Privacy Policy

TL;DR — PointMe doesn't track you. We only ever read your location long enough to find a nearby spot, and we never store it anywhere.

What we collect

Location: read from your device's browser via the standard Geolocation API only while you have the app open. It's sent to our server only as part of a search request to find nearby places (via Mapbox), and is never logged, stored, or associated with you.

Saved places: stored in your browser's localStorage. They never leave your device.

Compass / motion: read from your phone's sensors purely to rotate the on-screen compass. It is never transmitted.

What we don't do

  • No accounts. No emails. No passwords.
  • No analytics or ad trackers.
  • No cookies beyond the technically necessary.
  • No selling, sharing or profiling of any kind.

Third parties

Mapbox processes our place-search requests and serves static map images. They see the requesting coordinates but not any user identifier. See their privacy policy for details.

Vercel hosts the app. Their servers see standard request logs (IP + user agent) for a short retention period.
